  2. =====  Function Help - [J]oin a Conference  ===========================

  4.   This function allows you to join a conference currently supported by
  5.   the board.
  6.  
  7.   If you are not a registered member of the conference you select, you
  8.   will be so advised and returned to the main menu.  If you wish to
  9.   join a conference, you must leave a comment for the SYSOP stating the
  10.   reason(s) you wish to join.

  12.   Upon entering a conference, you are provided a unique file download
  13.   security which allows you to download files that are specific to the
  14.   conference users.  General board users may not download these files.
  15.   You are also provided with specific conference bulletins and a private
  16.   conference message section that contains messages specifically for
  17.   conference members.

  19.   If you are registered in more than one conference, you may change to
  20.   the other(s) at will.  You do not need to [A]bandon the conference
  21.   you are presently in.

  23.   You can enter a conference using a stacked command.  For example, if
  24.   you were a registered user of conference #1, the stacked command
  25.   would be "J;1" - without the quotes.

  27.   Once in a conference, you can select the [B]ulletin option to read
  28.   bulletins which are specific to that conference.  Also, you will be
  29.   provided two additional file directories which contain files that are
  30.   unique or specific to that conference.  Files listed in the conference
  31.   directories can only be downloaded by registered conference members.

  33.   The message section of the conference contains messages that only
  34.   conference members can read.  You still have the option of making
  35.   a message secure in a conference by directing it to a specific user
  36.   and indicating [R]eceiver security.  However, the conference message
  37.   section is intended to be for open exchange of ideas between members.
  38.   If you want to leave a private message for an individual, it is best
  39.   to place it in the main part of the board so that the individual it
  40.   is addressed to will be sure and see that it is for him/her when they
  41.   first logon.  Since they may not join the conference you left the
  42.   message in, they may not see it otherwise.
